Rattanakosin was
established by King Rama I
who moved the capital from Thonburi to its present location. ThaaChang was used as the bathing ground for Royal Elephants for around 100 years

Main gate was demolished to receive a large Buddha image from Sukhothai.
ThaaChang then was renamed to Tha Phra, but the locals still called it ThaaChang until today.
